Attorney Jason A. Shear concentrates his practice helping consumers primarily with claims brought under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Jason is the principle of the firm and serves as the firm’s Appellate Counsel.

He has assisted consumers who were victims of identity theft, helping these victims navigate the court system when they were sued on a consumer credit account for which they were not responsible, and then helping his clients clean up their credit report.

Jason has also defended consumers across New York State who were sued by debt buyers, using his experience to obtain favorable settlements for his clients or many times getting the debt collection cases dismissed.

Jason is a graduate of Hunter College, The University at Buffalo Law School and he also obtained his LLM in criminal law with honors from the University at Buffalo.

Jason is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey and has proudly represented consumers in New Jersey and all across New York State.

Jason has made pro-consumer law in various courts across New York State.  He also has been called on by various attorneys to consult and offer advice on consumer litigation in New York State.  He currently is also an adjunct instructor at a Buffalo Area College where he teaches a class on Consumer Law to paralegal students.

Prior to representing consumers and practicing consumer law, Jason worked for AV rated civil litigation law firms in Buffalo and New York City. Jason was also a participating member in Erie County’s assigned counsel program and he still enjoys handling criminal defense cases.
