Our client was sued in Otsego County Supreme Court. Fortunately, Consumer Attorney Jason Shear observed illegal activity by the debt collector which violated the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA). Cavalry is a company which purports to purchase defaulted consumer debt from credit card companies. We filed a counterclaim against Cavalry under the FDCPA. The debt collector’s law firm Mullooly, Jeffrey, Rooney & Flynn, LLP agreed to discontinue the debt collection case and we dropped the counterclaim.
