Our client was contacted over an alleged Travelocity account by Midland Credit Management, Inc. and Midland Funding LLC. Our client disputed a debt in writing with Midland Credit Management, Inc. and Midland Funding LLC (Midland) which was required to stop its collection efforts and should not have engaged in collection efforts until it verified the alleged debt. Furthermore, our client spoke to Midland and she advised them that she did not have an open account with Travelocity. She also mentioned that she previously forwarded a request for debt verification. Still, Defendants attempted to coerce our client into making payment on the purported subject debt. We then sued Midland Credit Management, Inc. and Midland Funding LLC under the FDCPA and obtained a confidential settlement for our client.
