As an advocate for consumers’ rights, Attorney Jason Shear concentrates his practice on fiercely defending the rights of consumers across New York State. Some of these areas of law include debt defense, identity theft and claims brought under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

Jason is the principle of the firm and serves as the firm’s Appellate Counsel. He has assisted consumers who were victims of identity theft, helping these victims navigate the court system when they were sued on unowed consumer credit accounts, as well as assisting them with their credit report cleanup and repair. Jason has also defended consumers across New York State who were sued by debt buyers, using his experience to obtain favorable settlements for his clients or oftentimes getting the debt collection cases dismissed. Jason is a graduate of Hunter College, The University at Buffalo Law School and he also obtained his LLM with honors from the University at Buffalo. Jason is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey and has proudly represented consumers in New Jersey and all across New York State.

Moreover, court personnel, nonprofits and attorneys routinely refer consumer clients to Jason due to his extensive knowledge and expertise in the area of consumer law. He is currently an adjunct instructor at a Buffalo Area College where he teaches a class on Consumer Law to paralegal students.
